What are the IBAN and the BIC and Swift codes?

IBAN stands for International Bank Account Number, which you can use when performing international payments.

BIC (Bank Identifier Code) identifies the bank quickly and easily.

SWIFT code (or SWIFTBIC) is a code that helps overseas banks identify which bank to send the money to.

The SWIFT code contains from 8 up to 11 characters. The first 4 indicate the name of the bank, the next 2 the international country code and the last 2 the city code. If it is an 11 characters code, the last 3 indicate a specific subsidiary of the bank.
